Summary
February 2017 -- In addition to the percent share insured unemployment series, we now carry the level series for all currently collected characteristics plus a new characteristic, by occupation, for national U.S., the Virgin Islands, and all reported states (3723 new monthly series from 1991).
Detail

Figures are in number of insured unemployed, not seasonally adjusted (#, NSA). Series start as early as Oct1991.

Series reside in the historical catalog (United States » Labor markets » Insured Unemployment Characteristics » by age|gender|industry|ethnicity|race|occupation) and include, for example:

  • XUIA4554M.IUSA = Insured unemployment by age: 45 to 54 years, (#, NSA)for the U.S.
  • XUIGFM.AL      = by gender: Female for Alabama
  • XUII42M.WY     = by industry: Wholesale trade for Wyoming
  • XUIENHM.DC     = by ethnicity: Non-Hispanic or Latino for the District of Columbia
  • XUIRIM.VI      = by race: American Indian or Alaskan native for the Virgin Islands
  • XUIO230000M.NY = by occupation: Legal for New York

Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
