Motivation: The comprehensive revision of the BEA state and local area personal income statistics is a two-phase process. The BEA posted initial results from 2001 of the comprehensive revisions for personal income at the state and local geo levels (in September and December, respectively), in connection with the five-year comprehensive update to NIPA. This update completes the process, with revisions to the remaining history. These revisions have been incorporated into our personal income estimates, a driver of our disposable personal income estimates.

Response: We have incorporated these revisions into our quarterly disposable personal income estimates from 1969. Because the BEA's initial release was revised only for years 2001 to 2017, values before 2001 are now consistent.
