Motivation: Our pertinent national source, the South Africa National Treasury, reports central government operations only in not seasonally adjusted (NSA) terms, including the line item "state debt costs" which is a "direct charge against the National Revenue Fund". Managed by the Treasury, the NRF is where federal revenues are deposited and from which expenditures are allocated; there are separate "provincial revenue funds".
Response: For analytic convenience we have created a seasonally adjusted (SA) counterpart. We use the X-13 ARIMA program.
Properties: Apart from the adjustment, same as the fundamental. Expect our SA series to be revised with each update to the NSA fundamental.
The series resides in the historical catalog:
and is:
- GVLCSDCAM.IZAF = Government Finance: Central Government Expenditure - Direct charges against the National Revenue Fund - State debt costs, (Ths. ZAR, SA)
