The source explains (citation, March 2016):
The Australian System of Government Finance Statistics: Concepts Sources and Methods, Australia 2015 (AGFS15) provides a comprehensive account of the GFS concepts to be applied in the Australian context. ... The Australian manual has been updated to incorporate the changes sought by the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as outlined in its Government Finance Statistics Manual 2014 (IMF GFSM 2014). ... Note that ABS GFS publications and associated output will continue to be published on the previous GFS framework as outlined in Australian System of Government Finance Statistics: Concepts Sources & Methods, Australia 2005 (AGFS05) until September quarter 2017.
In response, we have archived the predecessors (AGFS05, 2002Q3 to 2017Q2) by renaming with the specifier "_V05", by marking metadata as "discontinued", and by segregating in the catalog. The one-to-one replacements (AGFS15) start at 2016Q3. Figures are millions of Australian dollars (Mil. AUD) not seasonally adjusted (NSA).
The active series reside in the historical catalog (Australia » Government » Government Financial Statistics » AGFS15) and the predecessors under the associated "discontinued" node. They include, for example:
- GVLGGRTAX_V05UQ.IAUS = [DISCONTINUED] Government operations: General government - Revenue - Taxes, (Mil AUD, NSA)
- GVLGGUDEP_V05UQ.IAUS = [DISCONTINUED] Expenditure - Gross operating expenditure - Depreciation
- GVLGRTAXUQ.IAUS = Government operations: General - Revenue - Taxes, (Mil AUD, NSA)
- GVLGUDEPUQ.IAUS = Expenditure - Gross operating expenditure - Depreciation
- GVLGBBGBUQ.IAUS = Balance - Net operating balance
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
