Due to a boundary shift (full explanation linked below), two NUTS 3-level areas were redefined; that is, two entries in NUTS 2013 were replaced by two entries in NUTS 2016. NUTS 3 replacements begin in 2011Q1, and NUTS 2 replacements begin in 2012Q1.
In response, we have:
- Archived the predecessors (NUTS 2013, 1998Q1 to 2015Q4) by renaming the series with an "_G13" specifier, marking description metadata as "discontinued", and segregating in the catalog.
- Archived our SA supplements.
- Created replacements (NUTS 2016) for all reported geos.
The active series reside in the historical catalog (Finland » Labor and wages » Labor force status » Quarterly » NUTS 2016) and the predecessors under the associated (NUTS 2013) node. They include, for example:
- LWQLFT1574_G13UQ.IFIN_KAI = [DISCONTINUED] Labor force - Both sexes - Aged 15 to 74, (Ths. #, NSA) - for NUTS (2013) 3 Kainuu
- LWQEMT1574UQ.IFIN_PPO = Employment - for NUTS (2016) 3 Pohjois-Pohjanmaa
- LW%URT1574_G13AQ.IFIN_POP = [DISCONTINUED] Unemployment rate - for NUTS (2013) 3 Pohjois-Pohjanmaa
- LW%URT1574UQ.IFIN_KNU = Unemployment rate - for NUTS (2016) 3 Kainuu
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
Seasonally adjusted versions
We have terminated our seasonally adjusted supplements as redundant. As a substitute, please use our LFS subnational estimates, which start at 1998Q1. They reside under the adjacent node (... » Labor force status » Moody's Analytics Estimated) and the correspondence is (old » new):
- LWQLFT1574AQ » RLBFQ = Labor force
- LWQEMT1574AQ » RLBEQ = Employment
- LWQUNT1574AQ » RLBUQ = Unemployment
- LW%URT1574AQ » RLBRQ = Unemployment rate
About the dataset
Subnational areas may not sum to the national total. The source reports the areas as a continuous time series despite changes in NUTS delineations; for example, Kainuu (IFIN_KNU) contains a break at 2015Q4/2016Q1 from NUTS 2013 to NUTS 2016. Such series have a "[Break in boundaries from 2016Q1]" notation in the "source" metadata.
