Data Change: Poland subnational - Components of change - NUTS 2013
Thursday, 29 Jun 2017 11:54 ET
By Ian Vaughan
Summary
April 2017 -- To report demographic components of change (births, deaths, natural increase) for subnational areas in Poland, the source has switched from NUTS 2010 to 2013 (39 annual series 1995-2014, replaced by 57 from 1995).
Detail

In response, we have archived the predecessor series (NUTS 2010, 1995-2014) by marking their metadata as "discontinued." The replacements (NUTS 2013, see related article) start at 1995. Properties are otherwise unchanged: figures are unitary count (#), or thousands (Ths. #). To summarize:

  • Before:
    • Geo standard: NUTS 2010
    • Geo coverage: 89 areas = nation, all NUTS 1, 2 and 3 areas (six, 16, 66)
    • Concept code pattern: VSQ(BTH,DTH,INAT,POPINAT)UA
    • Series count: 267
    • Date range: 1946-2014, or 1995-2014
  • After:
    • Geo standard: NUTS 2013
    • Geo coverage: 95 areas = nation, all NUTS 1, 2 and 3 areas (six, 16, 72)
    • Concept code pattern: VSQ(BTH,DTH,INAT)UA
    • Series count: 380
    • Date range: 1946-2016, or 1995-2016

The series reside in the historical catalog (Poland » Demographics » Components of change), and include, for example:

  • VSQBTHUA.IPOL_CIE   = [DISCONTINUED] Live births, (#) - for NUTS (2010) 3 Ciechanowsko-Plocki
  • VSQBTHUA.IPOL_CIC   = Live births, (#) - for NUTS (2013) 3 Ciechanowski
  • VSQINATUA.IPOL_CENT = Natural increase, (#) - for NUTS 1 Central region

Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
