Friday, 19 Jul 2019 02:41 ET
By Rushil Walia
Summary
July 2019 -- Data Buffet now carries the "producer price index for commodities" for Denmark, which is a Eurostat-standard dataset covering production, by NACE industry, for domestic use and for exports (113 new monthly series from 2000).
Detail

Dataset properties:

  • Classifications:
    • Dansk Branchekode 2007 (DB07), the local version of NACE Rev. 2
    • MIG aggregates
  • Measurement: Fixed-base index relative to 2015 (Index 2015=100)
  • Adjustment: Not seasonally adjusted (NSA)
  • Native frequency: Monthly
  • Start date: As early as 2000m1

The series reside in the historical catalog (Denmark » Price » Producer Price Index » 2015=100) and include, for example:

  • PPIIDXCUM.IDNK  = Producer price index: Total - Mining and quarrying; manufacturing; electricity and water supply [BCDE], (Index 2015=100, NSA)
  • PPIDMMFUM.IDNK  = Domestic - Manufacturing [C]
  • PPIXDENGUM.IDNK = Non-domestic - Energy [S5]

Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.

Please be aware that

This dataset is the Eurostat-standard PPI for Denmark, but Data Buffet also carries the country's "price index for domestic supply". Their universes overlap:

  • Producer price index for commodities = Production for domestic markets; production for export
  • Price index for domestic supply = Imports; production for domestic markets
