On the theme page, the source explained (citation):
In this section Statistics Portugal presents the new series of National Accounts, with 2016 as benchmark year.
And in direct correspondence, the source explained:
Due to the new benchmark in National Accounts based in 2016, the recent Regional Accounts published only cover years 2016 to 2018. During the first semester of 2020 full series will be released. At some point this year, the series will have more history added.
In response, we have:
- Archived the predecessors by renaming with an "_11" specifier, marking metadata as discontinued, and segregating in the catalog.
- Created one-for-one replacement series.
- Refurbished the "discontinued" portion of the catalog to clarify the prior vintages.
Notable properties (for full list, see background in Mnemonic 411):
- Start date: Changed from 2000 to 2016 (temporarily)
- Measurements: Unchanged
Note that Data Buffet's extract of regional gross value added by industry contains only current-priced series, so the change in reference year (as seen in the quarterly national accounts) is inapplicable; however, revisions of several kinds pertain during the five-year benchmark.
The series reside in the historical catalog:
- Portugal » National Accounts » by Value Add » Annual
- Portugal » National Accounts » by Value Add » Discontinued » Ref 2011 » Annual, 2000 to 2017
and include, for example:
- NALSGDP_11UA.IPRT = [DISCONTINUED] National Accounts: By production - Gross domestic product, (Mil. EUR) - for Portugal
- NALSGVARE_11UA.IPRT_AG = [DISCONTINUED] Real estate activities - for NUTS 2 Algarve
- NALSGVASVUA.IPRT_MLI = Services - for NUTS 3 Alto Minho
