Motivation: For national accounts at chained prices, the Central Statistics Office (CSO) has advanced the currency reference period from 2013 to 2014 (see related article).
Response: For our euro-valued estimates of detailed gross value added (GVA) for national and subnational areas in Ireland, we have synchronized to the source. Properties are otherwise unchanged (see related article).
What you will see: All periods are revised, from 1995Q1 - for the nation and all NUTS 2 and 3 areas; for all activities; for both euro- and dollar-valued series. The USD series have been revised only slightly. Unit-descriptor metadata has changed (from 2013 EUR to 2014 EUR) for the national-currency subset.
The estimates reside in the historical catalog (Ireland » National Accounts » by Value Added » Quarterly » Moody's Analytics Estimated) and include, for example:
- RGDPWW$Q.IIRL = Gross value added - Water supply; sewerage; waste management and remediation, (Mil. 2014 EUR, SAAR)
- RGDPASEUR$Q.IIRL_BM = Administrative and support service activities, (Mil. 2010 EUR, SAAR) - for NUTS 2 Brabant Wallon
- RGDPTERUSD$Q.IIRL_DBL = Tertiary industries, (Mil. 2009 USD, SAAR) - for NUTS Dublin
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
Please be aware that:
- Although the national currency of Ireland is the euro, we produce distinct constant-price series for "national currency" and "euros." The latter subset has a currency reference year (2010) that is uniform across our cross-country system of estimates.
