In response, we have archived the predecessors (2007=100, April 2012 to March 2017) by marking renaming with an "_07" specifier, by marking metadata as "discontinued," and by segregating in the catalog. The one-for-one replacements (2013=100) start at June 2016 and have standardized mnemonics. The classification is COICOP; reported series are not seasonally adjusted (NSA).
The series reside in the historical catalog (Kuwait » Prices » Consumer price index) and include, for example:
- CPICLF_07UM.IKWT = [DISCONTINUED] Consumer Price Index: Clothing & Footwear, (Index 2007=100, NSA)
- CPICLFUM.IKWT = Clothing and footwear, (Index 2013=100, NSA)
- CPITTUM.IKWT = General, (Index 2013=100, NSA)
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
Please be aware that
Because we have standardized the mnemonics (to facilitate cross-country retrieval of CPI datasets classified by COICOP), a legacy retrieval will now elicit "series not found" errors. You will need to revisit the catalog.
For analytic convenience, we produce a seasonally adjusted counterpart to the all-items index.
