France's most recent geo redefinition combined 16 of the "administrative regions" into seven, resulting in 18 total areas. These changes will be reflected in the Eurostat NUTS 2016 standard, at the NUTS 1 level.
1. In response, we have archived the predecessor areas (NUTS 2013, 1982 to 2014) by marking their metadata as "discontinued." The replacements (NUTS 2016) have unchanged start dates. Figures are expressed as an annual average (% AVE), seasonally adjusted (SA). There is one concept. Geo coverage is the country, 13 of 14 NUTS 1 areas (ZEATS), and 96 of 101 NUTS 3 areas (departments).
The series reside in the historical catalog (France » Labor and Wages » Employment » Labor force status » Detailed unemployment » Annual) and include, for example:
- LW%URTUA.IFRA_AL = [DISCONTINUED] Labor: Unemployment rate, (% AVE) - for NUTS 2 (2013) Alsace
- LW%URTUA.IFRA_BFCO = for NUTS 1 Bourgogne-Franche-Comté
- LW%URTUA.IFRA_AIN = for NUTS 3 Ain
2. We have added the remaining reported geo. Like the rest, it starts at 1982.
- LW%URTUA.IFRA_XDOM = for France metropolitaine
3. The national series has been revised upward, as the definition of geo IFRA has expanded to include the DOMs.
- LW%URTUA.IFRA = Unemployment rate, (% AVE)
4. At this time, we have standardized the metadata of the existing 103 series.
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
