For December 2019, the United States Postal Service (USPS) added 1 new ZIP Code areas and retired 3. The set of ZIP code areas and their relationship to other geographies are subject to continuing revision, and we follow the lead of the USPS, but there may be months with no change.
The latest copy of the ZIP Code mapping file is located in the Reference Files section of DataBuffet.com. Other files provide the Data Buffet geo codes for pre-2003 metros, cities, ports and custom districts. Also, we recommend the metropolitan areas (CBSA) mapping file which, among other functions, lists the counties that comprise each area.

We maintain a collection of mapping files (i.e., concordance spreadsheets) as a Zipped file, distributed via the Reference Files section of Data Buffet. The latest version of the collection (published in August) contains a new “beta” format, which we will deploy in 2020; it also contains the previous format, which (at client request) we will update in parallel until 2020. The difference is that the previous format relates each ZIP Code to three successive CBSA delineations, whereas the "beta" format is streamlined to the active delineation.
