Important note: This is the first industrial producer price index release with 2015 as the base year. Weights have also been updated from the year 2015 onwards with 2015 weights. Hence, previous releases with base year 2010 cannot be directly comparable to this publication.
In response, we have archived the predecessors (2010=100, as early as January 2000 to December 2017) by renaming with an "_10" specifier, by marking as "discontinued", and by segregating in the catalog. The one-for-one replacements (2015=100) start at January 2014 (with caveats; see below). Reported series are not seasonally adjusted (NSA).
The active series reside in the historical catalog (Malta » Price » Producer price index » 2015=100) and the predecessors under the associated "discontinued" node. They include, for example:
- PPITT_10UM.IMLT = [DISCONTINUED] PPI: All markets, (2010=100)
- PPIDMUM.IMLT = PPI: Domestic, (2015=100)
- PPIEUUM.IMLT = PPI: Non-domestic euro area, (2015=100)
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
Please be aware that
The replacement series have standardized mnemonics. Because the replacements have standardized mnemonics, legacy retrievals will now elicit a "series not found" error. You will need to rebuild your basket from the catalog.
The replacement series are reported contiguously only from January 2017, but past history is being accumulated month-by-month for the prior three years. Hence, they show a start date of January 2014 but exhibit gaps thereafter.
For analytic convenience, we have extended the headline index backwards, over 2000 to 2016.
For analytic convenience, we produce a seasonally adjusted (SA) counterpart to the headline index. We have synchronized this to the new base period.
