In a footnote to data table TA00338, the source wrote (citation):
Since 2018, the weights of 2015 are used for calculating the volume indices. In 2009-2017, the weights of 2010 were used. In 2001-2008, the weights of 2005 were used.
In response, we have:
- For the fixed-base indexes, archived the predecessor (2010=100) by renaming with an "_10" specifier, by marking metadata as "discontinued", and by segregating in the catalog.
- Created its one-for-one replacement series (2015=100).
- Synchronized our SA supplement.
- Assigned a standardized mnemonic to the replacements.
- Renamed the 15 corresponding moving-base index series.
- Renamed the 16 corresponding level series.
- Refurbished the catalog.
Dataset properties:
- Classification: EMTAK 2008, the national adaptation of NACE Rev. 2
- Measurement: Volume index based to 2015 (Vol. Index 2015=100)
- Adjustment: Not seasonally adjusted (SA)
- Native frequency: Quarterly
- Start date: 2001Q1
- Subject to revisions: Yes
- Lag: Two months
The active series reside in the historical catalog (Estonia » Consumer » Retail sales index » Fixed-base index » 2015=100) and the predecessors under the associated "discontinued" node. They are:
- TNRJT_10UQ.IEST = [DISCONTINUED] Retail sales: Total economic activities, (Vol. Index 2010=100, NSA)
- WRJTTUQ.IEST = Retail sales: Total economic activities, (Vol. Index 2015=100, NSA)
The 15 renamed moving-base indexes reside nearby (Estonia » Consumer » Retail sales index » Moving-base index » Quarterly, from 2002) and include, for example (old » new):
- TNJ45YUQ.IEST » WRJ45YUQ.IEST = Retail sales: Wholesale; retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, (Vol. Index CPPY=100, NSA)
The 16 renamed levels (Estonia » Consumer » Retail turnover » Quarterly) include, for example:
- TNLMVPUQ.IEST » WRLWMVPUQ.IEST = Retail sales: Sale of motor vehicles; their parts and accessories, (Mil. EUR, NSA)
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
Please be aware that
Because we have standardized concept codes (steps 4, 5 and 6 above), subsequent use of legacy baskets containing prior mnemonics will elicit "series not found" errors. You will need to update your baskets using the attached concordance.
