Data Change: Sweden - Central government finances - Source
Tuesday, 27 Aug 2019 02:46 ET
By Rushil Walia
Summary
August 2019 -- For detailed finances of the central government of Sweden, we have changed our source from Statistics Sweden to the Government Offices of Sweden (28 annual series 1992 to 2013, replaced by 48 from 2000).
Detail

Statistics Sweden wrote (citation):

PLEASE NOTE! 2014 is the last edition of the Statistical Yearbook of Sweden. In principle, all contents from the yearbook are available on our website, and/or the websites of other government agencies responsible for statistics.

In response, we have:

  1. Archived the predecessors (yearbook, millions, 1992 to 2013) by renaming with an "_13" specifier, by marking metadata as discontinued, and by segregating in the catalog.
  2. Created replacements (billions), which start at 2000.
  3. Refurbished the catalog.

Active dataset properties:

  • Measurement: Billions of Swedish krona (Bil. SEK)
  • Adjustment: Not applicable
  • Native frequency: Annual
  • Start dates: Between 2000 and 2005

The series reside in the historical catalog (Sweden » Government » Central » Finances) and include, for example:

  • GVLCREV_13UA.ISWE  = [DISCONTINUED] Central Government Finances - Total revenue, (Mil. SEK)
  • GVLCEXLF_13UA.ISWE = [DISCONTINUED] Expenditures - The labour market, (Mil. SEK)
  • GVLCEXTUA.ISWE     = Government finances: Central government- Expenditure, (Bil. SEK)
  • GVLCRTXCUA.ISWE    = Revenue - Taxes on capital, (Bil. SEK)

Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic

Please be aware that

  • The reported line items differ.
  • The scale has changed, from millions to billions.
