Motivation: In October 2018, the Central Statistics Office of Ireland (CSO) terminated three residential real estate datasets. In August 2019, we obtained CSO's replacement dataset of transactions in existing dwellings.
Response: We adapted our methodology to available data.
- Before: For all areas, benchmark to average house price (this dataset has been terminated).
- After: For the country, benchmark to the reported average house price. For subnational areas, estimate house price using the reported value and volume of sales.
What you will see: Revised over the interval 1975 to 2018, at current and constant prices, at all geo levels.
Properties
- Measurements:
- Euros at current-year (EUR) or constant year-2010 prices (2010 EUR)
- Value index relative to 2010 (Index 2010=100) or volume (i.e., inflation-adjusted) index (Vol. Index 2010=100)
- Geo coverage: Country, five of eight NUTS 3 areas, one metro area
- Native frequency: Quarterly
- Start dates: 1975Q1 (country) and 1978Q1 (subnational)
The estimates reside in the historical catalog (Ireland » Sources: Multi-national » Real Estate » Residential » House prices » Moody's Analytics Estimated) and include, for example:
- RHPL$Q.IIRL_WST = Average house prices, (2010 EUR, SA) - for West (NUTS 3)
- RHPIQ.IIRL = House price index, (Index 2010=100, SA)
- RHPI$Q.IIRL_DBL = House price index, (Vol. Index 2010=100, SA) - for Dublin
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
