Mnemonic Change: U.S. - Monthly Treasury Statement
Friday, 06 Oct 2017 14:31 ET
By Megan Hilaman
Summary
September 2017 -- For our extract of the U.S. "Monthly Treasury Statement," we have standardized the mnemonics and metadata of existing series (125 monthly series impacted).
Detail

The systematic changes are:

  • Added the concept code prefix "X" to indicate "not seasonally adjusted"
  • Added the concept code suffix "M" to indicate "frequency monthly"

We have preserved the older mnemonics as aliases, so legacy retrievals will continue to operate without interruption. We recommend that you edit your basket to use the canonical mnemonic. The basket editor provides a "find and replace" tool; in this case, you can replace "GFB" with "XGFB" and ".IUSA" with "M.IUSA".

The series reside in historical catalog (United States » Federal only » Monthly Treasury Statement) and changes include the following (old » new). For a complete list, see the attached concordance.

  • GFBFETOT.IUSA » XGFBFETOTM.IUSA = Excess: Federal receipts outlays and inventories held - Total, (Mil. USD, NSA)

Please be aware that:

  • To denote the NSA property, our legacy U.S. series use the "" pattern, but our international (and newer U.S.) series use the letter "·U·" towards the end of the concept code.
