Motivation: Our national source for Colombia, the National Administrative Department of Statistic (DANE), reports labor force survey (LFS) data monthly, but with limited history: from 2001m1.
Response: For international consistency, we have estimated the four standard quarterly labor force indicators (labor force, employment, unemployment, and unemployment rate), and extended backwards by 20 years using data from the World Bank.
Properties
- Measurements:
- Thousands of persons (Ths.)
- Percent (%)
- Adjustment: Seasonally adjusted (SA)
- Native frequency: Quarterly
- Start date: 1980Q1
Expect the series to be revised with each new historical value appended to the fundamentals.
The series reside in the historical catalog (Colombia » Labor and Wages » National » Moody's Analytics Estimated) and are:
- RLBFQ.ICOL = Labor force, (Ths., SA)
- RLBEQ.ICOL = Employed, (Ths., SA)
- RLBUQ.ICOL = Unemployed, (Ths., SA)
- RLBRQ.ICOL = Unemployment rate, (%, SA)
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
