Mnemonic Change: Peru subnational - CPI for Lima - Geos
Tuesday, 17 Sep 2019 11:18 ET
By Megan Hilaman
Summary
September 2019 -- Peru reports several CPI indicators for the capital city, Lima. We have changed their geo code from IPER to IPER_LIM, among other refinements (three monthly series impacted).
Detail

Many countries report key high-frequency indicators for the capital region rather than for the entire country.

1. Renamed series: If you have a legacy basket or other retrievals, existing references will now return "series not found" errors. You will need to edit the basket to use the amended mnemonics; the basket editor provides a "find and replace" tool. Schedules that use these series as triggers will have executed, since a series timestamp is reset by any change to the mnemonic, metadata or numeric values.

Change 1.1: Systematic replacement of the geo code:

  • IPER » IPER_LIM

Change 1.2: Standardized the concept codes:

  • CPICORUM  » CPIULUM
  • CPNICORUM » CPINUUM
  • CPIIMUM   » CPIIMUM

2. Altered metadata: Added "Lima" to the description metadata (the geography name is usually delegated to the geo code). This change will immediately appear in Mnemonic 411, View and Chart modes, and in Basket output upon next execution. We strongly recommend including the "description" and "source" headers in all baskets.

The series reside in the historical catalog (Peru » Price » Consumer price index (Lima)) and are:

  • CPIULUM.IPER_LIM = Consumer price index: Underlying - Lima, (Index 2009=100, NSA)
  • CPINUUM.IPER_LIM = Non-underlying - Lima, (Index 2009=100, NSA)
  • CPIIMUM.IPER_LIM = Imported - Lima, (Index 2009=100, NSA)
