In direct communication, the source has clarified that:
There is not an original/unadjusted index series which is then seasonally adjusted to remove seasonality. The index is compiled in a way that means it does not have seasonal characteristics.
Hence, the SA supplements calculated by Moody's Analytics since 2012 are, and always have been, superfluous.
In response, we have deleted the following two series from the databank and catalog. Subsequent attempts to retrieve them will elicit the "series not found" error.
- HSIAFAQ.IAUS = [DISCONTINUED] Housing affordability index, (Index, SA) - 1994Q3 to 1997Q2
- HPIHIAFFAQ.IAUS = HIA Affordability Report: Affordability index, (Index, SA) - 1994Q3 to present
The as-reported series (six concepts, numerous geos) remain active.
