In response, we have archived the predecessor series (1993=100, as early as January 1993 to October 2015) by marking the metadata as "discontinued." The replacements are reported as a month-over-month percent change (% M/M) not seasonally adjusted (NSA) and start at January 2016. The classifications are CIIU-3 and CPC, the localizations of UN ISIC Rev. 3.1 (activities) and UN CPC (products).
The series reside in the historical catalog (Argentina » Price » Producer Price Index | Wholesale Price Index » From 2016) and the predecessors under the associated "discontinued" nodes. They include, for example:
- PPIAGUM.IARG = [DISCONTINUED] Producer price index: Agriculture, (Index 1993=100, NSA)
- PP%AGMUM.IARG = Producer price index: Agriculture, (% M/M, NSA)
- WPIDTTUM.IARG = [DISCONTINUED] Wholesale price index: Domestic - Total, (Index 1993=100, NSA)
- WP%DTTMUM.IARG = Wholesale price index: Domestic - General index, (% M/M, NSA)
- WP%BNATMUM.IARG = Wholesale price index: Domestic basic - National products, (% M/M, NSA)
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
Please be aware that:
- Argentina reports the PPI and WPI as part of a unified program, the "sistema de índices de precios mayoristas (SIPM)." The system includes the "índice de precios básicos del productor (IPP)," "domestic wholesale price index (IPIM)" and "domestic basic wholesale price index (IPIB)."
- A similar change in analytic form has been implemented for the CPI (see related article).
