New Data: Argentina - New vehicle sales
Tuesday, 13 Nov 2018 13:23 ET
By Edward Chaplin
November 2018 -- Data Buffet now carries production, sales and export of new motor vehicles for Argentina, as reported by the Association of Automobile Producers of Argentina (ADEFA) (12 new monthly series from 1996).

Dataset properties:

  • Measurement: Unitary count (#)
  • Adjustment: Not seasonally adjusted (NSA)
  • Native frequency: Monthly
  • Start date: January 1996

The series reside in the historical catalog (Argentina » Consumer » New motor vehicles) and include, for example:

  • VHQSLNMVUM.IARG = Sales - New - Total, (#, NSA)
  • VHQMFNPLUM.IARG = Production - New - Passenger vehicles and light trucks
  • VHQEXNLTUM.IARG = Exports - New - Light trucks

Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.

Please be aware that

The "total" and "passenger vehicles and light trucks" categories are numerically equal after 2015 because there is an additional component, "heavy commercial vehicles", which was reported only sporadically after February 2015. It is not in our extract.
