Producer price indices are renewed
Producer price indices are revised and their base year will be changed to 2015. In connection with the revision, the weight structures of the statistics are updated to correspond with the values of production, imports and exports for 2015. In addition, the commodity and enterprise samples are updated. In future, the classification used in the releases will be the CPA product classification instead of the previously used Standard Industrial Classification. Point figures calculated with the new base year become available in Statistics Finland's StatFin database on 26 February 2018. Calculation and publishing of data with base years 1949=100 and 2010=100 will continue.

In response, we have:

1. Archived one vintage of predecessors (2005=100, January 1995 to December 2017) by renaming with an "05 specifier, by marking metadata as discontinued, and by segregating in the catalog.
2. Displaced the other vintage of predecessors (2010=100, January 1995 to April 2018) by renaming with an "_10" specifier and by segregating. (The 2010- and 2015-base series will be reported in parallel.)
3. Created one-for-one replacement series (2015=100).
4. Expanded our 2015-base extract with the remaining reported two-digit industries, for completeness.
5. Assigned standardized mnemonics to the replacements.
6. Synchronized our seasonally adjusted (SA) supplement for PPI.

Dataset properties:

• Classification: TOL, the local adaptation of NACE Rev. 2, with scope of sections A to F (agriculture, mining, manufacture, utilities, construction), by single branches and MIG aggregates
• Native frequency: Monthly
• Start date: As early as January 1995 (unchanged)
• Lag: One month
