In response, we have archived the predecessors (2010=100, January 1970 to November 2016) by renaming with an "_10" specifier, by marking metadata as "discontinued," and by segregating in the catalog. The replacements start at January 1965, January 1975, January 1985, January 1990, January 2000 or January 2010. The classification is COICOP. Reported figures are not seasonally adjusted (NSA).
The active series reside in the historical catalog (South Korea » Price » Consumer Price Index » 2015=100) and the predecessors under the associated "discontinued" node. They include, for example:
- CPIFOO_10UM.IKOR = [DISCONTINUED] Consumer price index: Food, (Index 2010=100, NSA)
- CPIFPBUM.IKOR = Food [01.1], (Index 2015=100, NSA)
- CPIHMTUM.IKOR = Maintenance and repair of the dwelling [04.3]
- CPITXFENUM.IKOR = All items excl. food and energy
Because catalog locations are subject to change, the upper-right search box on DataBuffet.com provides a "find in catalog" mode that accepts a mnemonic.
Please be aware that:
- We have standardized the mnemonics of the replacements. Further use of the pre-archived mnemonics will elicit "series not found" errors.
- The active catalog is arranged by COICOP order.
- The source reports two "excluding" series. "All items excluding agricultural products and oils" is commonly quoted as the national-definition core CPI, but "all items excluding food and energy" is the OECD-compliant core CPI.
- For analytic convenience, we produce a seasonally adjusted (SA) counterpart to the all-items index. Our role is denoted by the secondary source citation of "Moody's Analytics Adjusted."
