Release Information

The H.10 release contains daily rates of exchange of major currencies against the U.S. dollar. The data are noon buying rates in New York for cable transfers payable in the listed currencies.

The rates have been certified by the Federal Reserve Bank of New York for customs purposes as required by section 522 of the amended Tariff Act of 1930.

The weekly release is issued in paper form on Mondays and is posted to the web site on the same day. The weekly release is updated daily, Tuesday through Friday, only on the web site.

Rates are in currency units per U.S. dollar except as noted.

Three exchange rate indexes for the U.S. dollar are available.

  1. Broad - is a weighted average of the foreign exchange value of the U.S. dollar against the currencies of a broad group of major U.S. trading partners.
  2. Major Currency - is a weighted average of the foreign exchange value of the U.S. dollar against a subset of the broad index currencies that circulate widely outside the country of issue.
  3. OITP - is a weighted average of the foreign exchange value of the U.S. dollar against a subset of the broad index currencies that do not circulate widely outside the country of issue.

The data are noon buying rates in New York for cable transfers payable in the listed currencies.

The Noon Exchange Rates from the New York Federal Reserve have not been updated since June 1, 2007. Moody's Analytics is currently looking for an alternative source for these series.
