The reason for this change was a reorganization in 2015 of administrative regions from 27 to 18 (see related article). In response:
- There are 12 new areas.
- We have expanded our extract with the remaining reported geos (unrelated to this change): France, Metropolitan France, and (aggregate) overseas departments of France.
- We have standardized metadata.
The new series start at 1990. Figures are unitary counts (#).
All series reside in the historical catalog (France » Real estate » Residential » Construction » Permits | Starts) and include, for example:
- HSQPMTTRXUA.IFRA_FG = Building permits - As recorded [accounting data] - Total residential, (#) - for NUTS 2 Guyane (French Guiana)
- HSQSTRTRXUA.IFRA_LRMP = Building starts - As recorded [accounting date] - Total residential, (#) - for NUTS 1 Languedoc-Roussillon-Midi-Pyrénées
- HSQPMTTRIUA.IFRA_XDOM = Building permits - As issued [real date] - Total residential, (#) - for Metropolitan France
- HSQSTRTRIUA.IFRA = Building starts - As issued [real date] - Total residential, (#) - for France
