Motivation: Our national source for this indicator, the National Bureau of Statistics of the People's Republic of China (NBS), reports detailed investment in real estate, monthly from February 1999, but only in cumulative (year-to-date, YTD) and not seasonally adjusted (NSA) terms.
Response: For international consistency and to simplify analysis, Moody's Analytics has computed single-period (non-YTD) counterparts, in both NSA and seasonally adjusted (SA) variants, for a subset of the indicators (i.e., residential; starts, completions, sales).
Properties: Series are monthly and start as early as February 1999. Units are tens of thousands of square meters (10 Ths. m²). Expect our calculated series to be revised with each update to the fundamentals. Supplemental series of this kind are identified by a secondary source citation of "Moody's Analytics Calculated" or "Moody's Analytics Adjusted".
The series reside in the historical catalog (China » Real estate » Investment » Floor space by building purpose and stage of construction) and include, for example:
- CRAMBSTRESAM.ICHN = Real estate: Floor space - Starts - Residential buildings, (10 Ths. m², SA)
