Description

Moody’s Analytics, located in West Chester PA, is a leading independent provider of credit risk management and economic data, analysis, and forecasting services, designed to meet the diverse planning and information needs of businesses, governments, and professional investors worldwide. As an Associate Project Coordinator you will contribute to client projects and web site content publishing, and assist internal staff on various tasks. The knowledge and experience gained in this role will help with future development within Moody’s Analytics.

Qualifications

The position requires a motivated, responsible individual with a BA or BS degree and coursework in economics, finance, statistics, or related fields, as well as an excellent academic record and strong proficiency in computer use. The appropriate candidate must be able to work collaboratively and independently, and be adept at problem solving and developing effective work plans. Organization and attention to detail are key. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required. Because this position involves extensive team and potential client contact, strong interpersonal skills are necessary.

DevOps Architect

Description

Moody’s Analytics Economics Division is seeking a DevOps Architect for its West Chester, PA office. The DevOps Architect position requires a motivated, driven, and passionate individual who enjoys solving challenging problems. He/she will be part of a small, collaborative team that participates across various aspects of DevOps including automation, configuration, build and deploy activities, and support of end to end solutions. This position will have a focus on both relational and non-relational database infrastructures. Responsibilities include: 

  • Develop automation and processes to enable teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale and monitor their database applications in on-premise data centers and in cloud
  • Actively participate in high level team activities such as suggesting architecture improvements, recommending process improvements and conducting tool evaluations
  • Coordination with development team workflows across environments
  • Help solve business needs with technology by evaluating different technology options and vendor products
  • System troubleshooting and problem solving across platform and application domains - will be expected to participate in on-call escalations to troubleshoot customer facing issues
  • Takes ownership of end-to-end solutions provided by teams across the organization and monitoring of database infrastructure.

 

Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science (or equivalent) and 0-3 years of experience. Entry level considered with experience.
  • Solid understanding of Software Development Life Cycle, Test Driven Development, Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery
  • Experience with production load balancing to many backend application servers
  • Experience setting up and managing database clusters.
  • Comfortable with Agile methodologies and working closely within small teams
  • Strong interpersonal skills are a must to liaison with development teams, other corporate teams, and vendors.
  • Extensive knowledge of Windows and Linux server architectures, software, and .NET applications.
  • Strong Experience with relational databases including Microsoft SQL Server.
  • Experience with non-relational databases including Redis and Mongo.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills required to diagnose issues across a wide variety of platforms
  • Ability to use a wide variety of open source technologies and cloud services (experience with AWS/Azure is a plus)
  • Experience with version control systems such as Subversion and Git
  • Experience with automation tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible, PowerShell)
  • Strong understanding of Active Directory topology, network, and Administration

The duties of an Economist include economic forecasting and analysis of countries, industries, and regions; preparing written analysis for the company's publications and our live commentary website; model estimation; contract consulting work, by assisting senior economists in model specification, estimation, and the writing of interim and the final reports; meeting with clients to discuss proposed and current projects; after some experience making presentations at our economic outlook conferences; and general client assistance. Economists may also work as editors for subscription products and will participate in training of Associate Economists.  

Qualifications

The qualified candidate will have a PhD degree in economics or related field, or a Master’s degree and three to five years’ experience. An excellent academic record is required. Job requires experience in macroeconomic and microeconomic analysis, technical writing, and economic modeling including E-views, SAS/FAME programming and VB. Training in econometrics is preferred. Knowledge of demographic research would be helpful.

  • Write and execute manual and automated tests.
  • Use bug tracking systems to submit, track and manage defects.
  • Analyze the results of performed tests and provide meaningful reports to project team.
  • Maintain software testing artifacts.
  • Use queries to create test data and analyze results for the tests performed.
  • Work closely with development staff and other key stakeholders to ensure coverage for each software release.
  • Develop/maintain automation framework modules as directed by management to fulfill specific testing requirements.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate/first-level degree (e.g., Bachelor’s degree)
  • 1-5 years of QA experience
  • Good understanding of the SDLC
  • Knowledge of QA methodologies including test planning
  • Understanding of Web-based technology architecture and data structures
  • Able to work well within the constructs of an agile process, including SCRUM, continuous build and integration, etc.

Description

Moody’s Analytics Economics Division, located in West Chester, PA, is a leading independent provider of economic, financial, country, and industry research designed to meet the diverse planning and information needs of businesses, governments, and professional investors worldwide. You would be responsible for credit modeling, including the development, implementation, and validation of probability of default (PD) and loss given default (LGD) models using state-of-the-art statistical and econometric techniques. Emphasis is on retail credit but with some exposure to corporate and other forms of risk modeling in partnership with sister companies within Moody's. You would also be responsible for forecasting and simulation exercises, with emphasis on stress testing under alternative scenarios; contract consulting work with major industry players worldwide, which would involve proposal writing, modeling specification, estimation and validation, final reports and documentation writing; meeting with clients to discuss proposed and current projects; making presentations at conferences; and general client service, including serving as primary point of contact for credit modeling issues. Economists and associate economists may report to you and rely on you for training and mentoring.

Qualifications

Candidates should have Ph.D. in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or closely related field. Two to three years of industry experience in quantitative risk modeling is strongly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of econometrics, stress testing, ability to communicate technical subject matter clearly and concisely to individuals from various backgrounds, and excellent writing, presentation and interpersonal skills are required.
