Description

Moody’s Analytics Economics Division, located in West Chester, PA, is a leading independent provider of economic, financial, country, and industry research designed to meet the diverse planning and information needs of businesses, governments, and professional investors worldwide. You would be responsible forin-depth research and forecasting for state and metropolitan economies and international economies; producing written analysis for our regional and international publications; and responding to client requests and inquiries. The work requires general spreadsheet analysis, in depth computer programming for data transformation and estimation, collecting and interpreting data for clients, working with the senior staff on larger research and consulting projects, and contributing to our live commentary website.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Economics relevant experience preferred in economic forecasting and consulting.  Excellent academic record, writing skills, and a strong proficiency in the use of computers and statistical/econometric software.  A successful applicant with a recent bachelor’s degree would be placed as an entry level Associate Economist 1. An applicant with two-years of post-graduate experience and/or a Master’s degree would be placed as an Associate Economist 2. The position requires a motivated, responsible person who can work well with others and independently of daily supervision and produce near copy-ready quality reports.  Strong interpersonal skills are a must as Associate Economists will work directly with clients to produce scheduled customized products as well as to share their insights on the areas they will cover.

You would be responsible fordeveloping econometric forecasting models for consumer credit portfolios under a variety of economic scenarios; deploying econometric models in a web-based platform; testing and quality assurance of deployed models; client training; and responding to client requests and inquiries. The work requires STATA programming skills, including data management, variable transformations and estimation of models. The successful candidate will collaborate with senior staff on consulting projects and will be involved in the development, deployment and testing of models in a proprietary loss forecasting and stress testing solution.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics or related field; relevant experience preferred in economic forecasting, credit modeling and consulting. Associate Software Engineer

Description

Moody’s Analytics Economics Division is seeking a Full Stack Web Developer for its West Chester, PA office.  The Web Developer position requires a passionate individual who enjoys solving challenging problems by developing a variety of applications using Microsoft, AWS, and open-source technologies.  He/she will be part of a small, collaborative team that participates in all aspects of the software development life cycle including analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and maintenance. Duties include gathering functional requirements, designing specifications, and programming for both internal and client-facing web interfaces and applications.  Web Developers must stay up-to-date on trends and developments within functional area of expertise and the industry.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Research, design, document, and develop application software
  • Create & modify MS SQL Tables, Stored Procedures, and Functions in conjunction with .NET application needs
  • Work closely with our Software Architects, UI/UX team and other software developers to implement modern user interfaces
  • Maintain and document new and existing applications
  • Provide post implementation support including monitoring application performance and debugging existing code
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of coding standards and best practices

Qualifications

Minimum education and work experience required for this position includes:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
  • 0-4 years of relevant work experience
  • Work experience or coursework using some of the following:

             -.NET Framework (C#, VB.NET)
­             - Relational Databases (SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, etc.)

Moody’s Analytics Economics Division is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer for its West Chester, PA office.  The Software QA Engineer position requires a professional who is very knowledgeable about QA testing tools and methodologies.  A successful candidate has experience authoring and executing both manual and automated software tests.  He/she must interface with software development and business stakeholders to fully understand application functionality, and ensure adequate test coverage.  Software QA Engineers must stay up-to-date on trends and developments within functional area of expertise and the industry.  Other responsibilities of a Software QA Engineer include:

  • Write and execute manual and automated tests.
  • Use bug tracking systems to submit, track and manage defects.
  • Analyze the results of performed tests and provide meaningful reports to project team.
  • Maintain software testing artifacts.
  • Use queries to create test data and analyze results for the tests performed.
  • Work closely with development staff and other key stakeholders to ensure coverage for each software release.
  • Develop/maintain automation framework modules as directed by management to fulfill specific testing requirements.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate/first-level degree (e.g., Bachelor’s degree)
  • 3-5 years of Software QA experience
  • Excellent understanding of QA processes, methodologies and Software Testing Lifecycle
  • Good understanding of QA testing tools and environments
  • Experience with automated testing tools (CasperJS, Selenium, etc.)
  • Able to work well within the constructs of an agile process, including SCRUM, continuous build and integration, etc.
