Description

Moody’s Content Solutions - Economics & Business Analytics, a division of Moody's Analytics is a continuously growing organization with an extensive global client list. We are located in West Chester, PA, and are a leading independent provider of economic, financial, country, and industry research designed to meet the diverse planning and information needs of businesses, governments, and professional investors worldwide. You would be responsible for developing econometric forecasting models for consumer credit portfolios under a variety of economic scenarios; deploying econometric models in a web-based platform; testing and quality assurance of deployed models; client training; and responding to client requests and inquiries. The work requires programming and data management skills along with econometric knowledge. The successful candidate will collaborate with senior staff on consulting projects and will be involved in the development, deployment and testing of models in a proprietary loss forecasting and stress testing solution.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Economics, Statistics or related field; relevant experience preferred in economic forecasting, credit modeling and consulting. Excellent academic record, writing skills, and a strong proficiency in the use of computers and statistical/econometric software. Programming experience is required in two of the following: Stata, R and Python. A successful applicant with a recent bachelor’s degree would be placed as an entry level Associate Economist 1. An applicant with two-years of post-graduate experience and/or a Master’s degree would be placed as an Associate Economist 2. The position requires a motivated, responsible person who can work well with others and independently of daily supervision and produce near copy-ready model documentation. Strong interpersonal skills are a must as Associate Economists will work directly with clients to provide training, explain models and output and address any additional reporting requests.

The Database Engineer 1 role manages and develops client-facing estimated, analytical, and value-added data sets. Tasks include programmatic implementation, continuous improvement, data management, and documentation. The Database Engineer 1 also seeks to improve the productivity and quality of processes and analytical programs. The role also serves as a subject matter expert for their datasets, supporting clients, sales, and colleagues on their use, methodology, and interpretation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop innovative data products from large data sets
  • Design and implement data processing operations
  • Identify opportunities and execute programmatic solutions to improve productivity
  • Applying analytical skills to interpret business functions, understand functional requirements, and research and resolve system problems.

Responsibilities of the Economist position include:

  • Forecasting and Analysis for the U.S. and global macro economies with a focus on financial markets
  • Preparing written analysis for the company’s publications, white papers, and real-time commentary for our website
  • Managing, constructing and updating forecasts models
  • Presenting to clients and other groups, as well as establishing a close working relationship with clients.
  • Additional responsibilities may include leading or participating in contract consulting projects requiring proposal writing, econometric modeling, and the writing of interim and the final reports
  • Contributing to the development and production of new and existing products.
  • The job also includes occasional travel for client meetings and presentations.

 

Qualifications

  

  • The qualified candidate will have a Ph.D degree or a Master’s degree and three to five years’ experience.
  • An excellent academic record; in-depth research experience; modeling and econometric skills; and excellent writing, presentation and interpersonal skills are required.

The Full-Stack Web Developer will be part of a small team within a larger organization, contributing to multiple projects and using a wide range of technologies and skills every day.

  • Front-end and back-end web development
  • Support and improve existing codebase
  • Debug user-reported issues
  • Architect new products and upgrade existing features
  • Work collaboratively with team members and other stakeholders to ensure successful delivery and implementation of assigned tasks
  • Participate in several aspects of the software development life cycle (SDLC)

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge (0-4 years’ experience) in a majority of the following areas:
    • Solid understanding of web technologies
    • Programming (C#, JavaScript, Typescript, Node, Angular, etc.)
