Description

Moody’s Analytics Economics Division, located in West Chester, PA, is a leading independent provider of economic, financial, country, and industry research designed to meet the diverse planning and information needs of businesses, governments, and professional investors worldwide. You would be responsible for in-depth research and forecasting for state and metropolitan economies and international economies; producing written analysis for our regional and international publications; and responding to client requests and inquiries. The work requires general spreadsheet analysis, in depth computer programming for data transformation and estimation, collecting and interpreting data for clients, working with the senior staff on larger research and consulting projects, and contributing to our live commentary website.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Economics relevant experience preferred in economic forecasting and consulting.  Excellent academic record, writing skills, and a strong proficiency in the use of computers and statistical/econometric software.  A successful applicant with a recent bachelor’s degree would be placed as an entry level Associate Economist 1. An applicant with two-years of post-graduate experience and/or a Master’s degree would be placed as an Associate Economist 2. The position requires a motivated, responsible person who can work well with others and independently of daily supervision and produce near copy-ready quality reports.  Strong interpersonal skills are a must as Associate Economists will work directly with clients to produce scheduled customized products as well as to share their insights on the areas they will cover.

Moody’s Content Solutions-Economics and Consumer Credit, a division of Moody’s Analytics located in West Chester PA, is a leading independent provider of economic, financial, country and industry research designed to meet the diverse planning and information needs of businesses, governments and professional investors worldwide.  

Responsibilities include copyediting reports, articles, proposals, marketing materials, and other client communications to ensure correct grammar, spelling, word usage, conformity with house style conventions, consistency, and timeliness.

You will correct all written work within the specifications for that format, generally electronic publications and live commentary on our web sites, often under tight deadlines; review final proofs; follow daily priorities to meet publication and web schedules; follow company style, writing and graphics guides; work closely with authors, desktop publishers and Production Services staff. Report to Senior Editor, Office and Production Services.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism or related field; excellent academic record; and at least two years of related experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel. The successful candidate will be a skilled, motivated, responsible individual who possesses strong interpersonal skills and can work independently and efficiently. Familiarity with business or economics writing a plus.

Quality Assurance Engineer

Description

Moody’s Analytics Economics Division is seeking a Software Quality Assurance Engineer for its West Chester, PA office.  The Software QA Engineer position requires a professional who is very knowledgeable about QA testing tools and methodologies.  A successful candidate has experience authoring and executing both manual and automated software tests.  He/she must interface with software development and business stakeholders to fully understand application functionality, and ensure adequate test coverage.  Software QA Engineers must stay up-to-date on trends and developments within functional area of expertise and the industry.  Other responsibilities of a Software QA Engineer include:

  • Write and execute manual and automated tests.
  • Use bug tracking systems to submit, track and manage defects.
  • Analyze the results of performed tests and provide meaningful reports to project team.
  • Maintain software testing artifacts.
  • Use queries to create test data and analyze results for the tests performed.
  • Work closely with development staff and other key stakeholders to ensure coverage for each software release.
  • Develop/maintain automation framework modules as directed by management to fulfill specific testing requirements.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate/first-level degree (e.g., Bachelor’s degree)
  • 3-5 years of Software QA experience
  • Excellent understanding of QA processes, methodologies and Software Testing Lifecycle
  • Good understanding of QA testing tools and environments
  • Experience with automated testing tools (CasperJS, Selenium, etc.)
  • Able to work well within the constructs of an agile process, including SCRUM, continuous build and integration, etc.
  • Solid understanding of the SDLC
  • Aptitude for thinking outside the box to develop thorough test scenarios and test cases
  • Ability to handle multiple projects concurrently; able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Critical thinking skills to analyze system requirements for ambiguities and discrepancies
  • C#, Java and/or other scripting experience
  • Understanding of Web-based technology architecture and data structures
  • Strong analytical and diagnostic skills as well as attention to detail
  • Very good verbal and written communications skills

Qualifications

Strong written and verbal communication skills. The successful candidate will be a motivated, responsible individual with the ability to work with minimal direct supervision.
