Moody's Analytics enhances its historical databases by including value-added series and historical estimates to address limitations in the raw as-reported data. These can include short history, low frequency, long lag, limited geographic or industrial granularity, and changes in definitions or classifications. Our estimates and value-added series synthesize reported data to overcome these limitations, simplifying macroeconomic analysis and facilitating cross-country comparisons and local analysis. We ensure high quality by using nationally sourced data wherever possible, supplemented by multinational datasets as needed.FORECAST DATA
Moody's Analytics produces forecasts and alternative scenarios (S1 through S6) for more than 70 countries/jurisdictions, and all U.S. states and metropolitan areas. Our forecasts and alternative scenarios go out 30 years and are updated on a monthly basis, reflecting the latest economic data, conditions and expectations. These alternative scenarios are driven by market demand for stress-testing purposes and continue to grow.
Additionally through relationships with the leading consumer credit bureaus Equifax, Moody's Analytics extensive data on conditions for consumer loans and forecasts for ongoing performance.
