Release Information
Savings and time deposit rates are the simple average of interest rates quoted by ten major licensed banks for HK dollar deposits of less than 100,000. The monthly average time deposit rates for maturities of 1-week, 1-month, 3-month, 6-month and 12-month, and savings deposit rate are disseminated.
Both the savings and time deposit rates are interest rates offered by banks for their customer deposits.
Compilation practices: The interest rates are quoted as percent per annum. Arithmetic mean is generally adopted as the method of calculating average interest rates.
Data is revised when new data becomes available.
