The World Banks Africa Development Indicators (ADI) provide annual time series data for over 1,400 indicators. Topics covered by the extensive database include national accounts, balance of payments, trade, prices and government finance and external debt with data on household welfare (from the Survey-based Harmonized Indicators Program), demography, health, education, the regulatory environment, communications, transport, energy and the environment. A key feature of the database is the level of detail with over 1,200 indicators for each country.
Aggregates for Africa are based off the World Bank’s analytical regional classification for Sub-Saharan Africa and North Africa, These may differ from what is commonly used when defining these geographies. Please note the Former Spanish Sahara and Mayotte are not part of the aggregate series.
