Release Information

General government headline finance items (revenue, expenditure, balance) for Bosnia and Herzegovina (BH), as levels and as a percentage of GDP, as reported annually by the CBBH. Annual from 2003.

International standard: IMF GFS 2001.

In accordance with the GFS Manual, the general government sector is defined to cover all entities that fulfill the functions of government as their main activity.

Exclusions: Government-owned business enterprises producing goods or services for profit. Extrabudgetary expenditure of directly financed international donor projects.

Inclusions: Extrabudgetary funds that perform some of the usual functions of government (pension and other social security funds). PE for road reconstruction and maintenance. Some donor-financed projects.

For analytic purposes and as the basis for international comparisons, the GFS Manual divides the general government sector into several standard sub-sectors: central government; state, provincial or regional; and local government. For the purpose of international comparability, "central government" is defined in GFS for BH as the consolidation of all governments except municipal ones, which are classified as local government.

The Data Buffet extract pertains to general government. We use the central bank's statistical portal, sections "Annual statement of general government operations" and "Main economic indicators."
