The compiling of the Labor Force Survey uses specific legislation and economic conditions to allow for minimal bias in the data collection. The source uses common reporting to estimate employment in organizations and companies, and it identifies employment in the Czech Republic by gender, age, qualification, industry, and a variety of other factors.

In 2024, the source writes:

Data since 2001 based on Population census 2001; data since 2011 based on Population census 2011. Up to and including 2022, a short-term projection of the final state of demographic data of the Czech population as of December 31 of the previous year to the middle of the current quarter was used for the weights of the sample. From 2023 is used, for all quarters of a given year, the projection of the final state of demographic data as of December 31 of the previous year after deducting the estimate of persons living outside private households or outside the apartments.

Timeliness

Summary data are reported in product 250145 with a lag of about six weeks. Details are reported in product 250128 about six weeks after that.

Moody's Analytics supplements

For national employment and unemployment (SA variants) we back-extend (1993Q1 to 2017Q4). For labor force and unemployment rate, we construct SA variants via additive identities.

For all eight NUTS 2 areas, we compute two NSA LFS concepts (viz., labor force and unemployment rates) as identities.

For the LFS quartet in subnational areas we construct SA variants, by directly adjusting or via additive identities.

The preliminary update covers the seasonally and non seasonally adjusted labor force and unemployment rate statistics, including numbers of employed and unemployed citizens in the Czech Republic.

The main update revises the statistics in the preliminary update while also breaking down the labor force statistics by gender and age.
