Kuwait - Nominal Gross Domestic Product

For Kuwait, the detailed expenditure approach to GDP (at current and constant prices, annually from 1983) and the detailed production approach (at current and constant prices, quarterly from 2010).

The objective of the quarterly national accounts dataset is to provide a more timely, but less detailed, alternative to the annual national accounts dataset for forecasting and analysis.

This dataset includes revised and provisional estimates of current price and 2010 constant price National Account data by expenditure. The dataset also includes defunct 1984, 1995, and 2000 constant price series. Figures are reported annually in millions of constant or current Kuwaiti dinars. The purpose of the dataset is to provide accurate and reliable data for use in economic analysis, forecasting, and international comparability.

The Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) compiles data reported by itself and the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Oil, Ministry of Electricity and Water, Civil Service Commission, and the Central Bank of Kuwait. The framework is defined by the UN System of National Accounts, 1993 (SNA 1993). The classification system used is the International Standard Industrial Classification of Economic Activites, Revision 3 (ISIC Rev. 3). The currency reference year, utilized by constant price series, is 2010.

Data is aquired and compiled by the Central Statistical Office from ministries, government departments, and public organizations in accordance to law 27 of 1963.

The framework is the United Nations System of National Accounts 1993 (UN SNA 93).
