The dataset provides information on the Housing Price Index, Apartment Housing Price Index, Rent Price Index and Apartment Rent Price Index for Luxembourg. It serves as an indicator of changes in the sale prices and rental prices of houses and apartments over a given period of time. Most of the mortgage loans in Luxembourg are variable rate, making the housing market sensitive to interest rate changes.
The data are provided by Observatoire de l'Habitat. The quarterly indicator prices offered in the building announcement is developed from a systematic survey during the first week of each month of vacancies advertised in newspapers, on the Internet and other sources. Each indicator (for houses and apartments) is the result of the aggregation of elementary indices calculated by stratum (size of property) and weighted according to their representation on the market. This method erases the effects of structure on indicators and monitors the effects of qualities.
The data may be subject to revisions.
