The cohort-component method takes into account the changes taking place among the three demographic processes namely: fertility, mortality and migration. The methodology involves separately projecting the fertility rates by age of women, 15-49 years, and the survival ratios and net migration rates (both internal and international) by five-year age groups, for each sex.
Data is not revised. New projections are released after a new census is conducted using new data.
