Release Information

The Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO)  publishes monthly data on the issuance of new construction permits by type of building. The categories of buildings are residential, non-residential, and holiday houses. Data is available by floor space (meters squared) or by total.

Residential buildings are further classified by the number of dwellings (single or multiple). When the major or entire part (more than 50%) of the building is for dwelling purposes it is considered a residential building. Temporary dwellings primarily used for recreation are considered holiday houses.

Non-residential buildings are detailed in accordance with Eurostat requirements by function. Non-residential buildings are used for official, administrative, commercial, tourism, entertainment, education, health care, sport, transportation, telecommunication, industrial, or agricultural purposes.

The data set includes both seasonally adjusted (SA) and not seasonally adjusted (NSA) figures.

Data is subject to revisions.
