Release Information

The Quarterly External Debt Statistics (QEDS) is split into data releases, the Special Data Dissemination Standard (SDDS) and the General Data Dissemination System (GDDS). Data is classified by the 2013 External Debt Statistics (2013 EDS) and are defined by the Sixth Edition of Balance of Payments and International Investment Position Manual (BPM6). Data is reported for countries that subscribe to the SDDS and the GDDS.

SDDS:

Includes breakdowns of the total gross external debt position by sector, maturity, instrument, domestic-foreign currency breakdown of external debt, forward debt service schedule, and principal and interest payments due in one year or less.

GDDS:

Looks to provide public and publicly-guaranteed private sector external debt position data that is categorized by maturity. It also includes the external debt position data broken by type of instrument, external debt-service payment schedule, domestic-foreign currency breakdown of debt, and creditor sector information.
