The Demographic rates are as follows:
• Crude Rate of Natural Increase which refers to the excess of births over deaths per 1,000 populations.
• Crude Birth Rate refer to the number of live births per 1,000 population
• Crude Death Rate refer to the number of deaths per 1,000 population.
Main Demographic Rates
The main demographic rates on birth and death data compiled by the Department of Statistics, Malaysia, are based on civil registration process provided by the National Registration Department since 1963 for Peninsular Malaysia and 1966 for Sabah and Sarawak. Prior to that, the information were collected from “Report of the Registrar General of Births and Deaths” and Population Census Report for certain years.
Data is revised when new data becomes available.
