Release Information

The Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP) reports data on central government operations that determines the evolution of fiscal surplus or deficit and how the Treasury finances its' operations. Figures are in millions of Peruvian Nuevo Sol (Mil. PEN) and are not seasonally adjusted (NSA).

All public entities are included in central government operations statistics. Public entities are national universities, ministries, public institutions, and regional governments. Social security institutions are not included.

The data reported is presented on a consolidated basis which eliminates any transaction between central government subunits. Data is classified according to the methodology in the 1986 edition of the Manual of Statistics of Public Finances of the International Monetary Fund.

Classifications of the data include current revenue, non-financial expenditures, capital revenues, interest payments, and net financing. Revenue data is reported on a cash basis, while expenditure data is reported on an accrual basis

The data is preliminary when first released in the BCRP’s Nota Semanal. Final data is available 18 months after the end of the reference year and is published in the Memoria.
