Release Information

The consumer survey contains questions about different topics including:

  • The financial situation of a household
  • General economic situation
  • Inflation
  • Unemployment
  • Saving
  • Intentions of making major purchases on durable goods or purchasing/building a home or buying a car
The provided answers provide an opportunity to respond as optimistic through neutral, to pessimistic.In total, the answers are presented in a five-option ordinal scale. 
 

The main source of data are questionaires. All persons 16 years and over that are members of Households that are included in the sample complete the questionaire in a personal interview setting. The results are in the form of balances. The most positive and most negative answers are given a coefficient of 1, while the more moderate answers are given a coefficient of 0.5.
