Calculating the change in the index: The variation of the index is the percentage of increase or decrease of the rate experienced between two certain dates. Accumulated inflation rates compare the rates of both periods, for example if you want to calculate the cumulative rate of 12 months, comparing the indices of the current month, compared to the index in the same month last year, and with them an estimated variation percentage.
