Sample size: Over 15,000 establishments in Colombia are interviewed, yielding 40,000 price quotes.

Valuation: The prices include taxes and VAT.

Due to different price collection periods for goods, there are three types of periodicity in the CPI price collection system:

  1. Less than one month: The month is divided into 10-day periods. One-third of the companies within the sample are visited each period. Data is obtained from three different periods throughout the reference month.
  2. Monthly
  3. More than one month: Housing industry data is collected bimonthly and one-half of the sample is interviewed each month. Clothing and education industry data is collected quarterly and one-third of the sample is interviewed monthly.
