Release Information

For Croatia: merchandise imports, exports, and trade balance. The statistics on foreign trade in goods comprises all the goods exported from or imported into the country. The values expressed are actual values achieved at the time when deals were contracted. Data on foreign trade in goods include both export and import based on gross inward and outward processing. Data are presented by using the production approach according to which export and import data are reported according to the manufacturing activity from which the product originates.

Export/import values are published in the national currency (kuna), euros and in US dollars. The amounts expressed in foreign currencies are converted into kuna, euros and US dollars according to the monthly exchange rate lists for the reporting month, as determined by the Croatian National Bank.

Data on shuttle trade are not included.

In certain tables, the sum total may not equal the sum of individual figures due to the rounding to thousands.

After the accession of the Republic of Croatia to the European Union, on 1 July 2013, data on foreign trade in goods statistics of the Republic of Croatia are acquired from two different sources: the Intrastat form for the statistics on the trading in goods between EU Member States (Intrastat) and the Single Administrative Document for statistics on the trading in goods with non-EU countries (Extrastat).

Moody's Analytics supplements

For the HRK- and EUR-valued presentations, we construct seasonally adjusted (SAAR) counterparts using the X-13ARIMA-SEATS program.

Data published in the First Release: Foreign Trade in Goods of the Republic of Croatia and the Monthly Statistical Report are provisional.

Only Single Administrative Documents containing the date of acceptance in the customs office in a particular month are processed for that month as well as Intrastat forms submitted for the reporting month. The already issued data for previous months are changed during the current year in order to classify later received and/or corrected Intrastat forms and Single Administrative Documents from previous periods. The monthly data are corrected until the final data processing for the current year is done (the middle of the next year). The monthly data are considered provisional until the final processing of the current year and dissemination of the final data are done.

The CBS publishes notice of changes in methodology in the First Release: Foreign Trade in Goods of the Republic of Croatia and in the Monthly Statistical Report together with the revised data at the time the change is introduced.
