For Germany, turnover indexes in retail trade (real/nominal) and turnover from motor vehicle trade (real/nominal), both measuring values and rates of change.

Turnover in retail trade includes:

  • Retail trade, except motor vehicles a. motorcycles (WZ08-47)
  • Retail sale of food, beverages and tobacco (WZ08-472)
  • Retail sale of automotive fuel (WZ08-473)
  • Retail sale of information a. communication equip (WZ08-474)
  • Retail sale of other household equipment (WZ08-475)
  • Retail trade not in stores, stalls or markets (WZ08-479)

Turnover from motor vehicle trade includes:

  • Wholesale, retail trade, repair of motor vehicles (WZ08-45)

For retail trade (45212-004), first figures are published about 30./31. in the following month of the reported month out of the results of 9 from the 16 German "Bundesländer". Second step figures with the results of all 16 "Bundesländer", for the reported month about 14./15. in the second month after the reported month, about 45 days to the end of the reported month.

For vehicle trade (45214-0004), Federal Statistical Office (FSO) has a "mixed model", so that the smaller enterprises (smaller than 20 million Euro turnover in the year and/or smaller than 100 employees) do now no more need to give FSO statistical reports. Vehicle trade statistics are published at earliest at the end of the second month after the reported month, so about 30./31. in the second month.
