Methodology

Series have a break starting in 2021Q1 due to IESS - Regulation (EU) 2019/1700.

Definitions

Relationship with international standards: The definition of employment adopted corresponds to those recommended by the ILO and adopted at the EU level by EUROSTAT.

Employment / employed persons
Comprises all persons aged 15 years old and over who, during the reference week, have worked at least one hour for remuneration in the form of a wage, salary, commission or payment in cash or kind, for profit or family gain or had a job or an enterprise but were not in work.
Hours of work
The hours referring to main job are defined as hours actually worked or usual hours; the hours referring to secondary job are defined only as hours actually worked. The time unit is hours per week.
Employment-related income
Income from paid employment for employees is measured by the net monthly payment and additional payments from the main job.

Revisions

The data are provisional when first released. The data become final as soon as all data used in compilation become definite. More specifically, the data released for the most recent quarter are provisional and are published together with the revised data of the previous quarter. Final data for the whole year are published in March of the next year.
