Release Information
The data regarding employment, unemployment and inactivity is gathered from the Labour Force Survey (LFS). The LFS's purpose is to gather information about the labour force using internationally agreed concepts and definitions.
- Uses a random sample of 2,500 private households per quarter. The objective is to have a continuous assessment of labour market trends given that the reference weeks are evenly spread throughout the 13 weeks of a quarter.
- 1,250 households chosen to participate for the first time
- 1,250 households chosen from the previous survey respondents
- 1st time respondents can choose phone or personal interviews
- 2nd time respondents are given phone interviews
