The source writes:
The results presented are data of the "European Labour force survey" which in Austria is conducted in the framework of a micro census. The micro census is a sample survey addressing about 1 500 households per week with its questionnaires. The European Labour Force Survey takes place in all member states of the European community. It gathers standardised information from randomly selected private households, institutional households remain out of account. Subsequently, these data are projected to the relative population number. National legal foundation is the Erwerbs- und Wohnungsstatistikverordnung/Regulation on purchasing and housing statistics/ 2010 - EWStV 2010, FLG II, no. 111/2010.
The data presented are projected data from a 0.6% quarterly sample (quarterly average). Data derived from fewer than the projected 8 000 persons are random data characterised in the table by an S. Data from fewer than the projected 4 000 persons cannot be interpreted statistically; in the table, they are characterised by an N. N in the table: Value does not make sense. A hyphen stands for non-existent.
Data on a reporting quarter are available three months after the end of the quarter under review, at the latest.
According to Statistics Austria, the ILO-Concept is based on the recommendations of the International Labour Organization (ILO). It distinguishes between the employed, the unemployed and the inactive population. It is the main concept for internationally comparable labour market statistics.
In 2021, the source implemented "Integrated European Social Statistics (IESS)," impacting the ILO-definition unemployment rate.
