Dwellings stock is determined based on data obtained from Population and Housing Censuses and on changes occurred each year, namely:
– inputs, representing dwellings in use (new dwellings and spaces with another destination changed into dwellings);
– outputs, representing demolitions and change of dwellings into spaces with another destination.
The statistics are calculated based on number of dwellings existing at the end of the year. The source reports number of dwellings, habitation rooms, living floor space split by state majority ownership, private majority ownership, and a total consisting of the summation of the two types of ownership. Data is calculated annually.
Data is subjected to revisions.
The series for 2001 are the result of the Housing Census of March 18, 2002.
Series for Rooms include rooms for commercial and professional purposes after the year of 2001.
