Methodology

The survey observes all individuals living in selected households. This is a single person or a group who lives together. A group includes temporarily absent members of the household. According to the source, the survery is conducted continuously throughout the year.

Definitions

Working age population
Includes all persons aged 15 years and older.
Labor force
Employed and unemployed persons.
Persons in employment
Persons in paid employment and self-employed persons.
Persons in part-time employment
Usually work less than 36 hours per week.
Unemployed persons
Those who during the last week prior to the interview:
  1. did not work (not in paid employment or self-employment and did not do any paid work)
  2. were actively seeking work (specific steps were taken in the past four weeks to seek paid employment or self-employment)
  3. currently available for work (within two weeks)
Inactive persons
Those aged 15 years and over who are not classified as employed or unemployed.

Changes
